Metallica's festival expands lineup with eclectic choices

Eric Church will bring some country music to Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival at Atlantic City’s Bader Field.

As promised, Metallica has expanded the band lineup for its Orion Music + More festival June 23 and 24 at Atlantic City's Bader Field.

Metallica fans may be surprised to see country star Eric Church added to the roster. Church performed last week to a sold-out crowd at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort for his "Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour." He may have just received the Academy of Country Music award for New Solo Vocalist of the Year, but that won't stop him from mixing in with the mostly metal Orion crowd.

The festival will get a dose of comic relief, too, as Jim Breuer and The Heavy Metal Comedy Tour joins the lineup. Breuer and his band will mix new songs with his comedy, featuring impressions of Ozzy Osbourne and rock-inspired covers of children's songs.

Wooden Shjips and Soul Rebels were also added to the tour, as well as the Damage Inc. stage. The lineup on this stage will be strictly punk and thrash and includes Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura, Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, Black Tusk and Thy Will Be Done.

Metallica will be headlining both nights of the festival and will be playing both "The Black Album" and "Ride The Lightning" in their entirety during the festival.

Also playing at the festival are Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, Cage the Elephant, F***ed Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, The Black Angels, The Sword, A Place to Bury Strangers and Liturgy.
