Cape Shore Annual Epiphany Concert
The Cape Shore Chorale, directed by Scott J. Breiner, will perform its Annual Epiphany Concert featuring the music of Bach, Michale Haydn and other seasonal music on Sunday, Jan. 5, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. and is free to attend. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 30th Street and Bay Avenue in Ocean City. Light refreshments will be available.
Novins Planetarium Winter Shows
The Robert J. Novins Planetarium, one of the largest and most active planetariums in the state, is offering a variety of family-friendly and sky shows, children’s shows and seasonal laser shows now through Feb. 1
One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure: Join Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from China. A live presenter will also give a brief tour of the night sky over New Jersey so children can learn where to look for constellations and visible planets of the season. Recommended for children 10 and younger. Shows are 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Secret of the Cardboard Rocket: Join two adventurous children as they use their imaginations, a refrigerator box and a helpful animated astronomy book to take a tour of the solar system. Before your journey, a live presenter will provide a brief tour of the night sky. Recommended for children 10 and younger. Shows are 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11, 25 and Feb. 1.
Laser Holidays: This family-friendly laser concert features holiday favorites such as “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and unique renditions of timeless songs. Shows are 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 and 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.
Wonders of the Seasonal Sky: Join a live planetarium presenter for an in-depth tour of the current sky over New Jersey. This ever-changing program explores the season’s constellations, bright stars, visible planets, deep sky objects, and celestial highlights. Shows take place Saturdays, Jan. 4, 18 and Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m., and 7 p.m. Fridays, Jan. 10, 17, 24, and 31 .
