Beer dinner for ACA

The Academy of Culinary Arts will host a beer tasting and dinner as part of its 30th anniversary celebration on Wednesday, April 11, at Careme's Restaurant, located in M-Building, 5100 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.

Sample international brews and learn how to pair them with great food during "The Chef and the Brewer: Why the Best Wine for Dinner May Just Be a Beer." Dr. Lynn Hoffman, a Philadelphia beer writer and former Atlantic Cape Beacons by the Sea visiting instructor, will lead the discussion.

Guests will have an opportunity to taste new and exciting brews, including: Yards ESB (pre-pour), Hoegaarden Wit, Victory Prima Pils, Dogfish Head Raison d'etre, Chimay Premiere and Allagash Triple.

A menu developed by ACA's Chef Joseph Sheridan, of Ocean City, will complement the beer list. $30. RSVP at 609-343-4940.

Michael Jackson tribute in A.C.

Michael Jackson's classic, larger-than-life performances and timeless dance music come alive again with the popular "Thriller: The Michael Jackson Tribute Show," coming to Atlantic City's Dante Hall on Saturday, April 7, at 8 p.m.

The show includes Michael Jackson chart-toppers from best-selling albums, featuring multi-talented performers who will portray Michael at different stages of his career and mastering his unique dancing to perform hits like "Billie Jean," "Thriller" and many more.

Dante Hall Theater of the Arts is located at 14 North Mississippi Avenue in Atlantic City. Admission is $20. Call 855-223-1008.

Latin Music Festival

The Latino Music Festival featuring legendary salsa singer and bandleader Tony Vega and Philadelphia-born salsa crooner Edgar Joel takes the stage Saturday, April 7, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Latin Music Festival will also feature the Merengue sensation Lily Bomba and the Latin pop/rock sounds of Natalie Bermudez. The post-concert dance party, in the Mori's 2nd Floor Ballroom, kicks off immediately after the concert with performances from Bomba and Tony Minaya and his orchestra, along with DJ Joe Rivera.
