The American Hockey League’s Albany Devils will once again take on the Hershey Bears in the second of a series of four regular-season games, 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Boardwalk Hall, above.

The Albany Devils serve as the top developmental team for the three-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils. The Devils also played a four-game series at Boardwalk Hall last year, when the team had 15 players play in both the AHL with Albany and the NHL with New Jersey. Five of those players made their NHL debuts last season.

The Albany Devils next take on the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins on March 1 and March 23.

Tickets are $26 for the first two rows on the glass, $21 for the lower bowl and $16 for the upper bowl. Special rates are available for kids ages 2 to 12, seniors 65 and older, military, students, and groups of 10 or more. These discounted rates are $16 for the lower bowl and $11 for the upper bowl.

A lower bowl “four-pack” is $80 and includes four tickets in the 100 level, four Dietz & Watson hot dogs and four soft drinks. The upper bowl four-pack is $65.

‘Dinosaurs!’ at Stockton PAC

Theatreworks USA’s Jim West and company will return to the Rickard Stockton College of New Jersey’s Performing Arts Center with an all-new puppet extravaganza 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, with “Dinosaurs!”

Fossil, the dinosaur detective, mixes fun and facts in a show inspired by everyone’s favorite prehistoric creatures. Among the dinosaurs featured are a Tyrannosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus. Mozart, Beethoven, Mahler, Stravinsky and Prokofiev provide the musical score. The audience can watch Jim as he builds a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex. The show is recommended for children ages 4 to 12.

‘Taste of Restaurant Gala’

The “Taste of the Restaurant Gala,” a cooking demonstration and tasting, will feature chefs from four local restaurants 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing, in M-129.

Chefs from Nero’s at Caesars Atlantic City, Annata Wine Bar of Hammonton, The Princeton in Avalon and Kelly’s Bake Shoppe in Northfield, will answer questions and serve small plates.

Tickets are $35 per person. Proceeds benefit student scholarships and Atlantic Cape Foundation operations. The Taste of the Restaurant Gala is offered in conjunction with the 31st Annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala, which will be held 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 13, at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino.

Sea Isle Polar Bear Plunge

Brave ocean jumpers will once again return to Sea Isle City on Saturday, Feb. 15, for the resort’s 20th annual Polar Bear Plunge, a weekend-long event beginning Friday, Feb. 14, and running through Sunday, Feb. 16.

Weekend events include the Polar Bear “Royal Family” contests on Friday, the Mike’s Seafood Polar Bear Run/Walk for Autism on Sunday, and a costume contest, parade, and appearances by Sea Isle’s original Polar Bear Queen Irene Jameson on Saturday.

The Polar Bear Costume Contest will begin noon Saturday. The competition will be emceed by comedian and radio personality Big Daddy Graham under the Family Tent at the LaCosta Complex, JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue. Contestants are invited to don their most creative costumes and register on the day of the competition prior to 11:30 a.m. in the Plunge Registration Tent on JFK Boulevard, located between Central and Landis avenues. Only registered plungers will be permitted to enter the Costume Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes in several categories.

The 2014 Polar Bear Parade will run along JFK Boulevard from Central Avenue to Pleasure Avenue starting at 1:15 p.m. Saturday. The parade will feature live music, the 2014 Polar Bear Royal Family, past Polar Bear Kings and Queens and the contestants from this year’s costume contest.

The 20th Annual Polar Bear Plunge will begin 2 p.m. Saturday on the JFK Boulevard Beach, where only registered plungers will be permitted to walk onto the sand. Participants can pre-register for the plunge online by visiting Lacosta-SeaIsle.com or register on the day of the plunge at the Plunge Registration Tent on JFK Boulevard, located between Central and Landis avenues.

The fee to register for the plunge is $25 per person. Plungers who are ages 12 to 17 will require the signature of a parent or guardian upon registration. Each registered plunger will receive a commemorative 20th Anniversary Polar Bear Plunge T-shirt while supplies last.

A special jitney service will be available during Friday and Saturday of Plunge Weekend. The jitneys will run along Landis Avenue from 29th Street to 93rd Street. The main downtown jitney pick-up location on Saturday will be on Landis at West Jersey Avenue (one block south of JFK Boulevard). The main downtown drop-off location will be on JFK Boulevard near the LaCosta Complex.
