'Big Teplitzky Challenge' in Atlantic City

It's Atlantic City's firefighters versus police officers in this year's "Big Teplitzky Challenge," taking place at Atlantic City's Chelsea Hotel 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12.

Atlantic City's finest will compete to be the first to clear their plate of a 4-pound breakfast of pancakes, stuffed French toast, eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, pork roll, hash browns, grilled tomato, toast and a bagel - all with orange juice and bottomless coffee or tea to wash it down.

The champion will win an overnight stay at the Chelsea and dinner for two at Chelsea Prime Supper Club.

Proceeds from the event will benefit two causes. The firefighters' cause will support Mary Jane Mendoza, a firefighter's loved one who is 17 months old and suffering from Wilms Disease. The police officers' cause will support fellow police officer, Jack Slota, who was injured in an accident on his way to duty.

Teplitzky's at the Chelsea Hotel is located at 111 South Chelsea Avenue, Atlantic City. Tickets are $10. Contact Jane Tayoun at Janejap@aol.com or 609-271-2500, or Christine Parker at ccparker82@gmail.com or 609-576-4084. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
