Sea Isle events

Sea Isle City's fifth annual Italian Festival and 22nd annual Columbus Day parade will take place Saturday, Oct. 6, along 63rd Street and Landis Avenue.

The daylong festival begins at 10 a.m. and will include live music, craft and specialty vendors, food and free gifts from Italian food distributor Cento - in addition to the second annual cannoli-eating contest.

The Columbus Day parade begins at 2 p.m. in front of the Italian American Club on JFK Boulevard, turning right onto Landis Avenue and ending at 63rd Street.

The Philadelphia Firefighters Memorial 5K Run and Walk will take place Sunday, Oct. 7, along JFK Boulevard and Promenade. The day will begin with a memorial Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, followed by a 10 a.m. walk and an 11 a.m. run.

Cape May Wine Festival

The sixth annual Cape May Wine Festival will return to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal on Saturday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 7.

The Garden State Wine Growers Association sponsors the two-day event, which includes live music, shopping and wine tasting from 24 of New Jersey's wineries. The festival runs noon to 5 p.m. both days.

Attendees can watch the arrival and departures of the ferries, walk along the waterfront and boardwalk and enjoy a day of great entertainment, food and wine. A Kids Zone will feature face painting, sand art and other activities. Jingo Live will provide entertainment on Saturday. Funktion Band will provide entertainment on Sunday.

Admission is $25 for either day or $40 for a two-day pass. The fee includes a wine-tasting glass. Tickets can be purchased at the admission tent from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at All ticket purchases on-site are cash only.
