Albany Devils vs. Hershey Bears at Boardwalk Hall

The American Hockey League’s Albany Devils will once again take on the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins in the last of a series of four regular season games 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Boardwalk Hall.

The Albany Devils serve as the top developmental team for the three-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils. The Devils also played a four-game series at Boardwalk Hall last year, when the team had 15 players compete in both the AHL with Albany and the NHL with New Jersey. Five of those players made their NHL debuts last season.

Tickets are $26 for the first two rows on the glass, $21 for the lower bowl and $16 for the upper bowl. Special rates are available for kids ages 2 to 12, seniors 65 and older, military, students and groups of 10 or more. These discounted rates are $16 for the lower bowl and $11 for the upper bowl.

A lower bowl “four-pack” is $80 and includes four tickets in the 100 level, four Dietz & Watson hot dogs and four soft drinks. The upper bowl four-pack is $65.

‘Nina in Motion’ at Dante Hall

Culture Collective will team up with Poetic Kenetic and Works of Art Dance Company to present “Nina in Motion,” a modern dance concert celebrating the life, music and legacy of Nina Simone, 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Dante Hall in Atlantic City.

Through modern and hip-hop dance, the three groups will tell the life story of Nina Simone, how she got her start in Atlantic City and became the voice of a movement. The evening will include special performances by Christina Noble, Isaiah Young and Travis Love.

Mr. Mature America Pageant in Ocean City

Men age 60 or older who are willing to entertain an audience — and maybe walk away with a crown — are invited to sign up for the inaugural Mr. Mature America Pageant, taking place 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Ocean City Music Pier auditorium.

The format of Mr. Mature America will include tradition pageant categories, including talent, swimwear and a question session. Instead of a pre-pageant interview, all contestants will take the microphone and discuss the topic “I Remember When,” going over their experiences growing up in their particular era. These talks will be humorous, nostalgic and informative.

The Ocean City Music Pier is located at Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. The Bubba Mac Blues Band, all members over 60, will perform at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is $10. Proceeds benefit the Ocean City Food Cupboard and the Philippine Relief Fund. The contest is free to enter, with prizes for winners and shirts for all contestants.

‘Lit with a Dim Bulb’ at Absecon Lighthouse

The Absecon Lighthouse will present the performance, “Lit with a Dim Bulb,” a comedy about the Jersey Devil atop the historic lighthouse, 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22.

Tony Boloney's pizza will be served along with beer, wine and soft drinks beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $25 and includes a tower climb. All proceeds benefit Absecon Lighthouse educational programs.

Katz JCC Honors Cookie Till at Gala

The Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Atlantic County will honor Cookie Till, owner of Steve & Cookies restaurant in Margate, at their annual gala 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at One Atlantic at the Pier Shops at Caesars, Atlantic City.

As the founder and chairman of the Margate Community Farmer’s Market and supporter of Jah’s Creation Organic Farm, Chef’s Collaborative — Earth Dinners and the NJ Farm to School Network, Till is committed to the community and the “eat, drink and buy locally” movement.

Till has also dedicated herself to the improvement of urban areas with her nonprofit organization, A Work In Progress.
