Toad the Wet Sprocket

Popular 1990s rock band Toad the Wet Sprocket will headline Appel Farm Arts and Music Center's first season at the Landis Theater in Vineland 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

One of the most successful alternative rock acts of the 1990s, Toad The Wet Sprocket enjoyed a string of hits including "Walk on the Ocean," "Fall Down," "All I Want" and "Good Intentions," before parting ways in 1998. The band reunited in 2006 and continues to tour.

Tickets are $32 and $50 and can be purchased at the Landis Theater box office, at 830 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, or by calling 856-691-1121. A select group of seats located in the mezzanine will have beverage and food service available during the show.

Fabulous '50s & Beyond Weekend

Get ready for a two-day celebration of the 1950s and Wildwood's role as the birthplace of rock 'n' roll with the 9th annual Fabulous '50s & Beyond Weekend, taking place Friday, Oct. 12, and Saturday, Oct. 13.

The fun begins Friday night inside the Wildwoods Convention Center, where Jerry Blavat hosts a special dance party from 7 to 11 p.m. Admission is $13 per person.

The free Fabulous '50s & Beyond Street Fair takes place Saturday at Fox Park, located across from the Wildwoods Convention Center on Ocean Avenue. The street fair runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include live entertainment, a classic car show, a doo-wop '50s bus tour and a variety of vendors offering '50s memorabilia and merchandise.

The Fabulous '50s & Beyond Concert will take place in the Oceanfront Arena at the Wildwoods Convention Center 7 p.m. Saturday. Performers include Kenny Vance & The Planotones, above, The 5th Dimension featuring Florence LaRue, The Orlons and Paul Revere & The Raiders. Admission is $49.50.
