Philadelphia Boys Choir in Cape May

The Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale will present "Americans in Paris," a full-length concert at Cape May Convention Hall 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

The performance comes on the heels of an extended PBCC concert and sightseeing tour in France during June and July. The tour included performances at Notre Dame and at the D-Day beaches in Normandy.

The Emmy winning and Grammy-nominated Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale is composed of 80 boys' choir members, complemented by a 20-member men's chorale. Jeffrey R. Smith directs the choir and accompanies the group on piano.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and $10 for children 12 and older. Admission is free for children under 12. All seats are general admission. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

'Jazz Legacy' at Sandi Pointe

Afro-Cuban Jazz will close out the Somers Point Jazz Society's three-concert summer series when Arturo O'Farrill & Sons perform at Sandi Pointe Coastal Bistro Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Mexican-born Arturo O'Farrill and his sons - Zack and Adam - come together for an evening of Afro-Cuban sounds and rhythms. The group features Arturo O'Farrill on piano, Adam O'Farrill on trumpet and Zack O'Farrill on drums. The performance is part of the Somers Point Jazz Society's 2013 Latin Jazz Summer Series.

Sandi Pointe Coastal Bistro is located at 908 Shore Rd. in Somers Point. The performance begins at 7 p.m. Performances are free for Somers Point Jazz Society members and $10 for the general public.

Watermelon party at The Reeds

The Reeds at Shelter Haven will once again celebrate the Stone Harbor hotel's original 1912 watermelon party with their second annual "Reeds & Seeds" watermelon party 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The event commemorates the original watermelon party hosted by the hotel's predecessor, the Shelter Haven Hotel, 101 years ago on Aug. 23, 1912, to celebrate its grand opening. This year's "Reeds & Seeds" will take place at The Reeds' Water Star Grille deck overlooking the bay. The celebration will feature a watermelon eating contest to crown the 2013 Reeds & Seeds king and queen, live music, watermelon treats and drinks, crafts and face painting.

The Water Star Grille at The Reeds at Shelter Haven is located at 9061 Third Ave. in Stone Harbor. In the event of rain, Reeds & Seeds will move inside to the Sweet Grass Ballroom.

Tracy Morgan at Levoy

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan will bring his "Excuse my French" tour to the Levoy Theatre in Millville 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Following his seven award-winning seasons on the hit series "30 Rock," Morgan is now focusing on stand-up comedy. Morgan is bringing his show to the United States following performances in Australia this spring.
