The A.C. Weekly and At The Shore team will return to pick up more NJPA awards in April.

It was announced this week that At The Shore and sister publication Atlantic City Weekly were awarded with a total of nine awards from the New Jersey Press Association in its annual, statewide editorial contests.

At The Shore won two NJPAs — Third Place for Critical Writing for Scott Cronick, director of entertainment publications for The Press of Atlantic City, and the entire ATS staff won Third Place in the Niche Publication category for its surfing-themed issue that came out in July.

A.C. Weekly, which won six NJPAs in 2015, garnered seven for 2016 including five first-place awards in the following categories:

First Place: Writing & Illustrations, Fresh Approach to Routine Reporting to Ryan Loughlin, associate editor

First Place: Writing & Illustrations, Best Lede to Ryan Loughlin, associate editor

First Place: Writing & Illustrations, Headlines to Pamela Dollak, editor

First Place: Packaging the News, General typography and layout of the entire paper to Jill Metzger, cover designer and Kathy Disbrow, graphic artist

First Place: Packaging the News, Front Page Layout to Jill Metzger, cover designer

Third Place: Packaging the News, Special Issue to Jill Metzger, cover designer

Third Place: Best Use of Social Media to the entire ACW team

NJPA awards will be distributed on April 20 during a reception and ceremony at The Hamilton Manor in Hamilton, Mercer County.
