The city of Avalon will be all hustle and bustle the day after Thanksgiving, as it welcomes the holiday season from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24.
The city’s Festive Friday event will span the entire business district from 20th to 31st streets and includes more than 40 activities for all ages, such as the city’s annual Turkey Trot, storytime with Mrs. Claus, holiday wine tastings, free ice skating, Polar Express train rides, horse and carriage rides, holiday refreshments,and a tree lighting ceremony, to wrap up the festivities.
The Bay Atlantic Symphony will perform as part of the day’s entertainment. Starting at 4:15 p.m., the Symphony will have a brass quintet at Veteran’s Plaza, 21st Street and Dune Drive. The group, comprised of two trumpets, one French horn, a trombone and a tuba, will delight the crowds by playing favorite holiday tunes.
