The sights, sounds and delicious smells of old-world Italy will waft through the air at the Sons of Italy’s annual Olde Time Italian Festival, to be held in Wildwood Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29 and 30.
The 13th annual event, held inside Fox Park, features an Olde World Italian Market with Italian craft and food vendors to peruse. Get an early start on your holiday shopping (or just purchase some cool items for yourself), then imagine bite into your favorite Italian foods like pasta, sausage, chicken cutlets, clams and spaghetti, tiramisu, cannolis and more to choose from.
The weekend begins at 5 p.m. Friday with a Procession of the Saints Mass, followed by live music at 6 p.m. with Philadelphia-native Charlie Gracie and party band Purple Reign. Festivities end at 11 p.m. and pick up again Saturday at noon, featuring performances by 45 RPM, The Aquanets, Bittersweet Duo, Tre Bella, Kenny Jeremiah and more, all through to 11 p.m.
Additional activities include the return of grape stomping and spaghetti eating contests. Fox Park is located on Ocean Avenue between Burk and Montgomery Avenues, across from the Wildwoods Convention Center. Admission is free. Call 609-729-7499 or go to SonsOfItalyWildwood.org.
