The Chelsea Beach Bar had its official opening 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug 6. Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian did the honors to cut the red ribbon and welcomed a flood of people to the newest beach bar in Atlantic City. The bar will be open until Sept. 14 and will re-open spring 2016.

Ocean City VFW Post 6650 hosted a fundraiser on July 31 to assist the building committee of its U.S. military service-organization brethren, O.C. American Legion Post 524, right. The event raised about $2,000 for the Legion's new building at 46th Street and West Avenue in O.C.

Somers Point National Night Out was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 4, on Morrow Beach in Somers Point. The free event included games and activities for the kids, live music by the CharterTech Rock Band, hot dogs and refreshments. The event was sponsored by the Somers Point Municipal Drug Alliance.
