Baia brings the party to the bay in Somers Point

Baia Restaurant offers live music every day of the week, including a popular reggae night on Sundays.

Baia Restaurant is a shore vacationer's paradise, chef and owner Edward Bonsignore says.

"When you're on vacation, it's exactly where you want to be," Bonsignore says, "on the water, eating and drinking."

Baia is located on Bay Avenue in Somers Point, serving lunch and dinner with live entertainment every evening.

The restaurant has three full bars, two of which are outside on the deck, with a happy hour at the bar from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, including half-price drinks and $6 select appetizers.

Bonsignore and his longtime friend, Gary Holloway, opened Baia Restaurant in 2010, creating a menu focused on authentic Italian cuisine with a local seafood flare.

"Baia means bay in Italian," Bonsignore says.

This summer is Baia's third season at the shore and it's already shaping up to be a good one.

"A new restaurant is like a football team," he says. "It takes two years to get really good then by the third year you're ready for the Super Bowl."

Daily Live Music:

Baia offers live music seven days a week through Labor Day including its popular weekly reggae night every Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. with Moses Livingston and the Raggamuffins.

Bonsignore says Sundays are Baia's biggest night.

"It's a really fun night and it brings in a good crowd," he says. "It's like a full-blown reggae powerhouse with people dancing on the deck, enjoying the atmosphere and letting loose."
