It's impossible to classify Avalon's Bobby Dee's Rock 'N Chair into a niche. Depending on when you're there and what you're looking for, the offerings vary wildly.

But it's safe to say you can spend an entire day under its roof - or on its deck looking down Dune Drive - and you won't feel the urge to move on to something new.

Brunch? Dinner? Dancing? Live entertainment? Pool tables and TVs? Yes to all.

Bobby Dee's Rock 'N Chair offers a full breakfast/brunch with specialty Bloody Marys - plural - and other breakfast cocktails, as well as a full lunch and dinner menu, an extensive wine list, a daily happy hour, live band and DJ performances, dancing and more.

Its owners are North Wildwood natives and entrepreneurs Robert DiPeso, aka Bobby Dee, and his son, Bob DiPeso Jr., who also goes by the trademark nickname. The family also owns Bobby Dee's Arcade on the Wildwood Boardwalk and Dee Developers Inc., based in North Wildwood.

As developers, DiPeso Jr. says they're always itching to expand, upgrade and add new features to the bar and restaurant. Mix that with a slower offseason and you can bet that come summer there will be something new at Bobby Dee's Rock 'N Chair.

"When we first took it over eight or nine years ago, we really re-did the whole building, inside and out," he says. "And then each year, we've always kind of done a little something new."

New this season:

They've extended their outdoor deck to add about 30 tables, extended breakfast/brunch to seven days a week starting June 18 (currently Friday through Sunday), added a brick pizza oven with a menu to match and bought two regulation-size pool tables for the upstairs lounge area, which also features intimate tables and couches, a second full bar (the first is downstairs) and live entertainment.

Some popular performers coming to Bobby Dee's Rock 'N Chair this summer include LeCompt, The Corner Boys and Big Romeo.
