Beachgoers in Avalon looking for a place to have a drink and listen to live music don't have to wander too far any more.

The Golden Inn Hotel & Resort's beach bar, which is steps from the 79th Street entrance of the beach has experienced great success since opening to the general public a few years ago. Previously the poolside beach bar was reserved for its hotel guests.

Director of Sales and Marketing Charlotte Haman said making the decision to make the beach bar public a few years ago has made it a popular party spot for Avalon locals and visitors to end their beach day or start their night.

"Once people find out about the beach bar, they often become regulars," Haman says. "The locals all know about it, but our goal is just to get the word out to Avalon's visitors that we're open to the public and we have a lot to offer."
