The first annual Atlantic City Beer Week will be celebrated this year from April 4 to 13. Of course, the premiere event is the eighth annual A.C. Beer and Music Fest. There will be beers from 90 different breweries, wares from many related vendors and music from some premiere bands.
The festival will feature three sessions: 7 to 11 p.m. April 5, noon to 4 p.m. April 6, and 6 to 10 p.m. April 7. The kickoff event for A.C. Beer Week will be a dinner at Mia's in Caesars Atlantic City 7:30 p.m. April 4. It will be a gourmet feast of hors d'oeuvres, five courses and dessert each paired with an outstanding beer from breweries including Troegs, Dogfish Head, Weyerbacher and Oskar Blues.

On April 7, Firewaters at Tropicana Casino and Resort will start early with a beer brunch at 10 a.m. to help clear the cobwebs from the night before. Your ticket or wristband from the fest will give you access to a complimentary brunch. Later that afternoon at 4 p.m., Viking Cooking School at Harrah's Resort and Brooklyn Brewery Chef Andrew Gerson will cook some unique dishes and pair them with Brooklyn's excellent beers. Spots are limited, so call 800-242-2274 to reserve your place.
The Viking School also will be holding classes on April 8 with Goose Island Brewery reps showing the versatility of cooking with its beers and 7 p.m. April 9, with local beer expert Gary Monterosso and Celebrity Chef Barbie Marshall as they prepare amazing food and pair it with N.J. beers. On April 10, Phillips Seafood on the Pier at Caesars will be holding a Suds, Surf and Turf dinner featuring the beers of local Tuckahoe Brewing, the food of Chef Paul Drew and commentary by Gary Monterosso. There will be five courses and live cooking demos by the chef, as well as prizes and giveaways. All this for only $79. Tickets available at MissionTix.com.
