Oysters plus beer equals much cheer.

When Jimmy Buffett penned the lyrics, “Gimme oysters and beer for dinner every day of the year,” he could very well have been sitting in Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood at the time. Buffett would feel quite at home at Harry’s, located right off the boardwalk at Bally’s Atlantic City, with their vast selection of beers and their awesome variety of oysters from up and down both U.S. coasts. Harry’s craft beers include constants such as Blue Point, Guinness and Smithwicks. But there are others such as Carton, Cape May Brewing Co. and Heavy Seas that rotate frequently. However, it’s their large bottled brews — namely Corsendonk, Pinkus and Chimay — that they are perhaps best known for.

Harry’s happy hour takes place five nights a week.

From 4 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, Harry’s has great deals on beers, Sobieski Vodka cocktails and house wines, plus appetizers at buy one, get one half price. On Fridays during happy hour, the drink specials are for half-priced beers only (bottles and drafts). When Wednesday rolls around, look for an added special — “Buck a Shuck” — dollar oysters. These bargain bivalves help make this particular happy hour hugely popular.

It’s called Harry’s Oyster “Bar” for a reason.

If you’re paying attention, you’ve noticed the word “bar” in this establishment’s name. Their dark wooden bar takes up about half the restaurant. The whole bar area can easily accommodate about 100 guests. Look around and you’ll see numerous TVs displaying sports all the time — so every seat is a good spot to watch the game. Next month, come watch your favorite college basketball team compete during March Madness, or enjoy some spring training baseball games, as Harry’s has any sports package you desire.

You’ll love their list of seasonal and yearly cocktails.

Harry’s doesn’t just have one signature cocktail menu, they have two — one for mainstays and one for seasonal drinks. Those that are always on the menu no matter what time of year are concoctions such as the Espresso Martini, Dark and Stormy and a Bloody Mary made with Harry’s own seasoning that is amazing.

You’ll feel like you’re on vacation at Harry’s outside bar.

Come warmer weather, hit up Harry’s outside bar. Enclosed in a fabulous courtyard setting on the boardwalk — but not right “on” the Boardwalk — this unique area is protected from the wind and opens up to the beach, providing pretty views of the sky and dunes. You feel as if you’re on vacation when you sit at this awesome outdoor bar area. Make sure you save seats early though as this bar is jamming all summer long. Don’t miss live music outside from local bands, too.
