Mountain Bar is more than a bar — it’s part of a huge entertainment complex.
Mountain Bar at Bally’s Wild, Wild West Casino is more than just the little novelty bar it used to be. Expanded earlier this year, it’s now a part of what is being touted at Bally’s as an “entertainment complex.” This complex is one big entity that also includes a “Party Pit,” a larger dance floor and bigger staging, a gaming pit with blackjack tables, live music and dancers, video games and beer pong. Now, thanks to its additional space, if the outside entertainment at Bally’s Bikini Beach Bar gets rained out, it no longer gets canceled — it’s just brought inside to Mountain Bar.
They have a 24/7 happy hour.
Mountain Bar is pretty much open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during which they never really have a “happy hour.” That’s because their drink prices are a great deal all the time, thus creating an around-the-clock happy hour — a real rarity in A.C. Look for $2 shots, $2 draft beers and $3 bottled beers, as well as a variety of other drink specials. And while they don’t serve food, Wild About Wings is super close, in case you need a nosh.
Kick up your heels on country Thursdays.
Mountain Bar was originally built as a theme bar within the country Western-themed Wild West Casino. While Wild West is being morphed entirely into Bally’s, the themed bar has remained. In keeping with this theme, each Thursday you’ll hear a live array of upbeat contemporary and classic country music performed presently by two duos: Dirty Whiskey and Rachel Allyn Duo. Come summer, look for full-out country bands to keep on dancing to.
On Fridays and Saturdays, check out Top 40 DJs and bands, plus “Wild West Vixens” dancers.
Some of the top area DJs spin at Mountain Bar 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The music completely surrounds the entire complex, so it doesn’t matter if you’re playing blackjack, sitting at the bar or in a beer pong tournament. You can also enjoy live Top 40 bands on the Party Pit’s main stage located right outside of Mountain Bar. Also 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, be sure to check out the “Wild West Vixens,” four country-themed dancers who perform choreographed sets — right on top of the bar — throughout the night.
But wait — there’s more!
A mechanical bull, a photo booth and a bunch of bachelorette parties. As befitting any country-themed bar, there is, of course, a mechanical bull. Enclosed in a roped-in area, folks can try their luck on the bull for a few minutes at $5 a ride. Mountain Bar also has a whimsical photo booth where you and friends can choose a different background in which to savor your memories. The photos can then be connected to all of your social media sites. Mountain Bar is also a real hot spot for bachelorette parties. There’s no need to rent out space, just gather the girls around their tables or the bar. And where many places in town won’t allow bachelorettes to enter with tiaras or boas due to strict dress codes, Mountain Bar encourages it.
