They have happy hour five days a week, including a special “Wine Down Wednesday.”
Bar One, the only Resorts Casino Hotel-owned bar and lounge, was recently renovated. The look had been tired and dated, and the space didn’t attract the live entertainment that it desired to attain, so they added some brighter paint and cool touches such as alligator-skinned wallpaper, elegant drapery and a bar that fully displays its liquor lineup. Bar One is open seven days a week, and 4 to 7 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays there’s a great happy hour. During those hours enjoy $3 domestic beer, $4 house wines and $5 well drinks. Also take part in “Wine Down Wednesday,” when you can get a glass of premium wine for only $5.
Live music livens up the place.
With the change in appearance came a change in the entertainment lineup. They were hoping to attract bands that would jive better with their new, hip look. They achieved that with both bands and solo talent such as Juicy, Nick + Kelly and 2nd to None. Live music can be heard on Saturdays and Sundays. If you’re so inclined, there’s a small dance floor at Bar One on which you can show off your best dance moves.
They brought in the big guns to help revive their menu.
The folks at Resorts were serious about upgrading everything from the look to the bar menu that they hired Peter O’Connor from Spike TV’s “Bar Rescue” to shake up their cocktails. He developed a menu of infusion cocktails created specifically for Bar One, as well as trained the bar staff on them. He designed four signature bar infusions, many of which include Ketel One, along with unusual ingredients such as basil, toffee, ginger root and cinnamon. Bar One is quickly becoming known for these infusions, which can be purchased as a shot ($7) or a flight ($20).
It’s a great place to start or end a party.
Bar One has a terrific location within Resorts. It’s centrally located in the middle of the casino floor near the brand new food court and not far from Margaritaville. It’s a good-sized bar where folks like to pop in to grab a pre-dinner cocktail before heading to a restaurant such as Capriccio in Resorts. It’s even more popular in the later hours, after playing the tables or following a show.
