Vagabond Kitchen and Tap House in Atlantic City takes it up a notch with its gourmet bar food, excellent and extensive craft beer menu and its stellar live entertainment.

Tom Harris, who co-owns the business with Elvis Cadavid, both of Ventnor Heights, said when people come to Vagabond, they never want to leave.

“People will come to eat and then stay for hours afterward drinking at the bar, enjoying the music, watching a game,” Harris says. “We have NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL game specials, so we’re pretty pumped about this time of year.”

Harris and Cadavid took ownership of Vagabond shortly after Hurricane Sandy hit, causing damage to the restaurant. They had previously worked at Vagabond so they knew what worked and what could be improved upon.

Since taking over, they’ve revamped the place and added new offerings, including outdoor dining and an upgraded food menu.

“People are raving about the changes,” Harris says. “They can’t believe it.”

Above everything else, Vagabond is known for its fantastic craft beer menu, Harris says.

Some house favorites, which are always available, include Allagash White, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter and Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA and Arrogant Bastard Ale

Through the fall, happy hour is 3 to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 4-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Vagabond offers live music every Friday and Saturday night starting at about 7 p.m. as well as Quizzo every Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. and karaoke every Wednesday at 9 p.m.
