Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center might be away from home for the first Thanksgiving of their lives. But thanks to local families, they will not have to spend the holiday alone. Operation Fireside is a traditional partnership between the Coast Guard and the community where training center recruits can spend the holiday with a host family, watching football, eating a home-cooked meal and relaxing.
