ATLANTIC CITY - Caesars Atlantic City is hosting a screening party tonight for the debut of the new season of HBO’s series “Boardwalk Empire.”

The television program has been behind a number of changes in the city since it premiered in September 2010 including the addition of a facade featuring Boardwalk storefronts from the 1920s.

That 180-foot long facade display is in front of the West Hall of Boardwalk Hall, near the intersection of the Boardwalk and Florida Avenue, and includes re-creations of the Ritz-Carlton, Steel Pier and a store that put premature infants on display, among other places.

Resorts Casino Hotel has also embraced the era by rebranding itself with a Roaring '20s theme to capitalize on the national publicity of series.

And the Great American Trolley Co. now operates a Roaring 20s Tour.

Caesars hosted a similar screening event when the show, based on Hammonton resident Nelson Johnson's "Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City,” made its debut last year.

The screening, which is free and open to the public, will take place starting at 9 p.m. inside the Circus Maximus Theater. Doors open 8:45 p.m.
