This promises to be a big week for Cape-Atlantic League high school baseball teams.

The field for the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic will be announced Sunday. The leaders of the CAL American and Nationals conferences at the conclusion of Saturday’s games will earn automatic invites to the prestigious 16-team tournament.

Cedar Creek has the edge in the National Conference because it beat Buena Regional earlier this month. Cedar Creek will host Ocean City on Thursday in a game that could decide who gets the division’s automatic bid.
