Former Eagles coach Andy Reid apparently already has a new job.
ESPN, the Kansas City Star and Yahoo all reported Friday morning that Reid has agreed to terms on a five-year contract to become the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Reid, who was fired Monday after 14 seasons in Philadelphia, is expected to be introduced as the Chiefs new coach in Kansas City later today.
Reid, who notched a 140-102-1 record with the Eagles, succeeds Romeo Crennel, who was fired Monday after the Chiefs struggled through a 2-14 season.
Reid, 54, is expected to bring several former Eagles executives and assistant coaches to his new position. The Chiefs fired general manager Scott Pioli Friday, clearing the way for former Eagles and Browns general manager Tom Heckert to join the Chiefs.
Former Eagles offensive line coach and defensive coordinator Juan Castillo will likely be coaching the Chiefs' offensive line. Brad Childress and Pat Shurmur are also expected to reunite with Reid.
The Chiefs have some talented players such as running back Jamaal Charles and wide receiver DeWayne Bowe. They also own the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Interestingly, the Chiefs play the Eagles next season at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. The exact date and time will be announced when the entire 2013 NFL schedule is released in April.
The Eagles have yet to pick a new coach. They have interviewed Atlanta special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong and defensive coordinate Mike Nolan and are scheduled to meet with Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy on Sunday.
University of Oregon coach Chip Kelly and San Francisco offensive coordinator Greg Roman, a Ventnor native and Holy Spirit High School graduate, are also candidates.
