The Eagles added their 11th new player in the last two weeks Thursday when they traded FB Stanley Havili to Indianapolis in exchange for DE Clifton Geathers.
Geathers, 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds, played in eight games for the Colts last season and collected five tackles and a sack. The 25-year-old spent time with Cleveland, Miami, Seattle, Dallas and Indy in the last three seasons. He was the Browns' sixth-round daft pick in 2010.
Geathers' brother, Robert, has spent the last nine seasons as a DE with Cincinnati. His father, Robert Sr., was a defensive linemen with Buffalo. His uncle, James "Jumpy" Geathers played 13 seasons, had 66 sacks and won two Super Bowls during stints with New Orleans, Washington, Atlanta and Denver.
In other news, the Eagles lost out on OLB Victor Butler. Butler, a former Cowboy, visited with the team for two days earlier this week, but signed a two-year contract with the Saints on Thursday.
