The Eagles confirmed through their web site Sunday morning that they met with University of Oregon coach Chip Kelly Saturday as part of their search for a new head coach.

Owner Jeffrey Lurie, president Don Smolenski and general manager Howie Roseman headed the contingent that talked with Kelly in Arizona. Kelly, who coached the Ducks to a victory in the Fiesta Bowl, also talked with Cleveland and Buffalo before heading back to Oregon on Sunday. The Browns are believed to be the frontrunners to land him.

The Eagles are in Denver today to talk with Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who is also being pursued by several teams who fired their head coaches last week.

Another contender, Syracuse coach Doug Marrone, is reportedly set to become Buffalo's new coach.
