CLEVELAND - The Eagles'  offense got off to a rough start in Sunday's season-opener.

The unit committed two first-half turnovers and five holding penalties. The offensive inconsistency was why the Eagles were tied 3-3 with the Browns at halftime at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Browns took a 3-0 lead on place-kicker Phil Dawson's 43-yard field goal with 9 minutes, 12 seconds left in the first quarter. Eagles place-kicker Alex Henery booted a 42-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy lost a fumble on the team's first possession of the season. Quarterback Michael Vick later threw an interception.

The Eagles' defense got off to an encouraging start, however. Safety Kurt Coleman and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie each garnered interceptions in the first half. Middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans also played very well.
