PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles suffered yet another loss at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday.
Despite an exciting rally late in the game, they finished the sesaon with a 2-6 home record with a 27-20 loss to Washington.
The defeat marked the first time the Eagles won two or fewer games at home since 1986, when they went 2-5-1 under first-year coach Buddy Ryan.
The Eagles had a chance to force overtime in the final seconds, but rookie quarterback Nick Foles one-hopped a pass to wide receiver Jeremy Maclin in the end zone, then new tight end Evan Moore dropped a potential touchdown pass from the 5-yard line. On fourth down, Foles tried to throw the ball away, but his pass did not reach the line of scrimmage, ending the game.
Foles threw one TD pass and also committed two turnovers via a fumble and interception. Running back Dion Lewis ran for a 17-yard TD in the fourth quarter.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III threw two TD passes and one interception to Eagles safety Colt Anderson.
The Eagles dropped to 4-10 on the season while the Redskins improved to 9-6 with their sixth straight win.
