The Philadelphia Eagles finally officially signed quarterback G.J. Kinne on Tuesday.

Kinne had announced via Twitter on Feb. 28 that he had signed with the team after a workout that day, but the Eagles did not confirm it until he was released from his contract with the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League on Tuesday.

Kinne became the fifth quarterback on the Eagles' roster, joining Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Trent Edwards and Dennis Dixon.

Kinne's father, Gary, was a linebacker in Eagles' training camp in 1990. G.J. Kinne played for new Eagles quality control coach Press Taylor at the Univesity of Tulsa, where he was a teammate of Eagles wide receiver Damaris Johnson.

He originally signed as a free agent with the New York Jets in 2012, but was released before training camp.
