PHILADELPHIA - The Eagles are going to need a second-half rally to remain undefeated.
A slow start by the Eagles' defense resulted in San Diego taking a 13-10 halftime lead in Eagles coach Chip Kelly's first home game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Eddie Royal and place-kicker Nick Novak booted two field goals in helping the Chargers take a 13-3 lead.
The Eagles' offense finally got untracked in the second quarter. Quarterback Michael Vick's 71-yard pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson set the stage for Vick's 13-yard TD pass to wide receiver Riley Cooper in the second quarter.
Rivers completed his first 10 passes and finished the first half 16 for 18 for 216 yards.
Vick was 10 for 16 for 201 yards.
The Eagles' defense forced two first-half turnovers. Cornerback Brandon Boykin and linebacker Trent Cole each caused a fumble.
The Eagles had a chance to tie the score just before halftime, but place-kicker Alex Henery's 46-yard field goal attempt missed wide right.
