PHILADELPHIA - Unless Eagles quarterback Michael Vick shows dramatic improvement during the week, rookie Nick Foles will get his first career start next Sunday at Washington.

Coach Andy Reid said Monday that Vick sustained a "significant concussion" during the Eagles' 38-23 loss to Dallas and will not practice on Wednesday.

"We'll know (about Vick's status) within the next couple of days," Reid said.

Vick also suffered a concussion last season against Atlanta, but started the next game. This one is considered more severe. Reid said he still had a headache on Monday and was resting.

Foles, who threw for 219 yards with a touchdown and two turnovers against the Cowboys, would become the first rookie to start a game at quarterback for the Eagles since Donovan McNabb in 1999.
