Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, with coach Andy Reid before the start of a preseason game Thursday, says his three years with the organization and Reid have helped him become ‘a considerate human being’ who is ‘doing the right things.’

Eagles coach Andy Reid has no plans to bench quarterback Michael Vick.

He reiterated that stance on Wednesday, two days after suggesting that a chance may be in the works should Vick continue to struggle.

During his press conference on Monday, he indicated that the situation "would be evaluated as we go," but voiced his support for Vick during his radio show later that night.

"I've talked to Mike about it," Reid said Wednesday. "It was just bad semantics. Michael is our quarterback."

If the Eagles want to keep him on the field, however, they need to do a better job of protecting him.

Vick was sacked five times and endured 13 hits in the Eagles' 27-6 loss at Arizona. Look for the New York Giants to bring plenty of heat Sunday night.

"We've got to keep our quarterback clean," Eagles G Evan Mathis said.

EXTRA POINTS: Long snapper Jon Dorenbos (sprained ankle), tackle King Dunlap (strained hamstring) and LB Akeem Jordan (strained hamstring) will not practice Wednesday.

Practice squad pickup Kyle Nelson will do the long snapping in practice for new punter/holder Mat McBriar. McBriar was signed Tuesday after the Eagles cut Chas Henry.

Demetress Bell will remain Dunlap's replacement. Jamar Chaney and Brian Rolle will split the reps at Jordan's spot.
