Now that the Eagles have hired Chip Kelly to be their new head coach, Ventnor native Greg Roman will become one of the top  candidates in Jacksonville.

Roman, a Ventnor native and Holy Spirit High School graduate, has yet to interview with any NFL teams. He is now not permitted to do so as long as the 49ers - who play Atlanta in the NFC championship game - are still alive in the playoffs.

Roman has indicated during a series of text messages with The Press that all of his focus is directed on helping the 49ers win the Super Bowl.

New Jaguars general manager David Caldwell was Roman's college roommate at John Carroll University (Ohio) and the two also worked together in Carolina.
