Atlantic City lightweight Osnel Charles (9-2, 1 KO) earned his first career knockout last Saturday night at The Arena in Philadelphia.

Charles notched his eighth straight victory with a first-round stoppage over Philadelphian Anthony Flores.

"It was pretty impressive," Arnold Robbins, Charles' manager and co-trainer said. "Flores was on the canvas for about five minutes and had to be taken to the hospital, but he's OK now."

The KO provided a quick end to a feud that had been brewing for a few weeks. According to Robbins, Charles and Flores had been trading barbs on Facebook. As a result, their scheduled six-round bout was one of the more anticipated fights of the card.
