Atlantic City boxing fans may want to check out HBO tonight for the premiere of "The Tale of Gatti-Ward."

The documentary examines the three fights between the late Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward, the last two of which were held at Boardwalk Hall on Nov. 23, 2002 and June 7, 2003, respectively, and the friendship the two developed after their thrilling, brutal trilogy.

The documentary features interviews with Ward, Gatti's former manager and close friend, Pat Lycn, and former trainer Buddy McGirt.

At the end of their third fight, which Gatti won by unanimous decision, both fighters would up in the emergency room of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus near Boardwalk Hall in adjacent beds.

The two grew so close that Ward was in Gatti's corner during his final fight, a seventh-round TKO loss to Alfonso Gomez at Boardwalk Hall in 2007.

The film airs tonight at midnight following HBO's coverage of Mike Alvarado-Ruslan Provodnikov.
