Gonzalez, Reyes earn wins at Bally's Atlantic City

Middleweight Brandon Gonzalez and welterweight Artemio Reyes earned victories late Saturday night at Bally's Atlantic City.

Gonzalez (15-0-1, 10 KOs), of Sacramento, Calif., won an eight-round split decision over Paterson resident Ossie Duran (26-9-2, 10 KOs). Reyes (14-1, 11 KOs), of San Bernardino, Calif., handed 2008 Olympian Javier Molina (9-1, 4 KOs) his first loss with an eight-round unanimous decision.

Both fights were shown on Showtime's ShoBox: The New Generation.

On the undercard, Ramon Ellis (2-7, 1 KO) posted a second-round knockout over Jesse Crawford (0-3) in a duel of Philadelphia welterweights. Carteret heavyweight John Lennox (7-1, 3 KOs) won a four-round unanimous decision over Donnie Crawford (1-3-1, 1 KO), of Winchester, Va. Philadelphia junior-welterweight Korey Sloane (2-1) took a four-round majority decision over Philadelphian Jason Sia (0-3). Camden super-featherweight Jason Sosa (4-1-1, 1 KO) ruined the pro debut of Philadelphia prospect Anthony Allen with a four-round unanimous decision. Baltimore super-lightweight Kevin Womack Jr. won his pro debut via four-round unanimous decision over Korey Pritchett (1-1), of Camden.

In other boxing news, Somers Point middleweight Patrick Majewski (17-0, 11 KOs) will return to the ring on Nov. 7 in a 10-round fight against Jose Miguel Torres (22-5, 19 KOs), of Colombia, at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. The bout is for the vacant NABF title.

On Nov. 19, Wildwood contender Chuck Mussachio (17-1-2, 5 KOs) moves up a weight class to cruiserweight to challenge USBA champion Garrett Wilson (10-5-1, 4 KOs) at Bally's Atlantic City. Atlantic City welterweight DeCarlo Perez (5-1-1, 2 KOs), Millville junior-welterweight Julio DeJesus (5-2-1, 3 KOs) and Atlantic City middleweight Antowyan Aikens (2-0, 1 KO) are scheduled for the undercard.
