Local fighters Mtume Goodrum and Mike Wilcox will be in action Friday night when Vineland-based Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

Both are former high school wrestling standouts who have made the transition to mixed martial arts.

Goodrum (0-3), an Egg Harbor City resident, will seek his first MMA victory in a lightweight fight against Sidney Outlaw (0-0), of Telford, Pa. Goodrum, 31, is a 1999 Absegami High School graduate who was a three-time runnerup in the New Jersey state championships.

Wilcox (2-1), a 25-year-old Buena Vista Township resident, will take on Dervin Lopez (1-0), of Tampa, Fla., in a middleweight fight. Wilcox finished fifth at the state championships in 2005 as a senior at Buena Regional.

Four years later, Wilcox became the first wrestler in Delaware Valley (Pa.) College to win an NCCA title when he earned the Division III championship at 184 pounds.

Twelve other fights are scheduled for tonight. In the main event, CFFC lightweight champion George Sullivan (10-3) will defend his title against Julian Lane (4-0).

Doors to Borgata's Events Center open at 6 p.m. with the first bout scheduled for 7. Tickets range from $55 to $225 and are available through pressofatlanticcity.com/tickets.
