ATLANTIC CITY - Somers Point middleweight Patrick Majewski refused to be drawn into the trash-talking and taunting that usually crops up during boxing weigh-ins.

After stepping on the scale at Resorts Casino Hotel Thursday afternoon for his Friday fight against Curtis Stevens, Majewski (21-2, 13 KOs) reacted to the traditional staredown by focusing on Stevens' forehead.

That didn't prevent Majewski's manager from getting involved, however. Arnold Robbins used the occasion to shout a few choice words at Stevens (25-4, 18 KOs) while Majewski just smiled.

"When a trainer needs to pump his fighter up, he starts talking," Stevens said afterward. "I don't pay much attention to it because the trainer can't do his fighting for him. I told him to just take some pictures and be quiet."

Because no title is at stake, the contracted weight for the bout is 162 pounds instead of the middleweight limit of 160. Majewski weighed 161 1/2 to Stevens' 160 1/2.

After the antics, Majewski donned a pair of boxing gloves and posed for some pictures before heading to his hotel room to relax.

"I didn't want to get involved in (trash talking)," Majewski said with a laugh. "That's (Robbins') job. My job is to finish it in the ring."

Majewski-Stevens will be televised Friday night on NBC Sports Network, which begins its coverage at 10 p.m. Larry Hazzard, the former commissioner of the New Jersey Athletic Control Board, will serve as an analyst.

Egg Harbor Township junior-middleweight DeCarlo Perez (11-2-1, 4 KOs) will be on the undercard. He's fighting an eight-rounder against Wilky Campfort (15-1, 9 KOs).

Tickets are priced at $50 and $75 and are available at Resorts and through Ticketmaster.

Mixed martial arts fans can head over to Tropicana Casino Resort to catch Ring of Combat 47 Friday, though very few tickets are available. There are five title fights on the 12-bout card. Atlantic City native Gasper Oliver is one of the referees for the show.

Golden Nugget Atlantic City will hold its first boxing card at that property since 1998 on Saturday. Heavyweights Derric Rossy (28-7, 14 KOs) and Joey Dawejko (8-3-2, 3 KOs) meet in the main event. Atlantic City super-middleweight Gabriel Pham (5-0, 2 KOs) is on the undercard against Michael Mitchell (2-1-2).
