These three fruit dips can inspire eating good snacks

Maybe you need another idea for packing fiber and vitamins into your child's lunch. Or maybe you're looking for a way to convince yourself to eat more fruit. Either way, making a dip (or three) to dunk your fruit in can make it a little more enticing, and a lot more fun.

CGI Racing will cut registration fees in half for anyone who volunteers at its Philadelphia Triathlon Expo 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday or 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday.

Open water swims popular early in the season

I went out for my first open-water (practice) swim Sunday morning. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would - the expectation probably stemming from me being more comfortable in the pool.

Stay cool when temperatures heat up

The high temperatures and un-yielding humidity expected to continue for the rest of the week won't derail my training plans. But the extreme weather will mean I take extra care to stay hydrated.

Second women's cycling outing scheduled Saturday

The second all-female cycling ride of the summer is scheduled for this Saturday. The Beacon Babe Ride will leave the parking lot of Beacon Cycling and Fitness, 231 Tilton Road, Northfield, at 8:30 a.m., so arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure you're ready to go.

Atlantic City Triathlon secures final approvals for inaugural race

It's official. The Atlantic City Triathlon is happening - definitely - in September. Organizer Stephen Delmone got word Tuesday that the city issued a permit, the last thing Delmonte needed to be assured the race is a go.
