The Holy Spirit High School boys basketball team will be without guard John Middleton when it faces undefeated Paulsboro in an American Basketball Classic game at St. Augustine Prep on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The 6-foot-2 Middleton sprained his foot, Holy Spirit coach Jamie Gillespie said. Middleton did not play in the Spartans 71-43 win over Vineland on Thursday.

Gillespie said Middleton will be reevaluated by doctors next Friday and should be cleared to play at the point.

Middleton, a junior point guard, is one of the Cape-Atlantic League’s top players. He averages 14.3 points and Manhattan University has already offered him a scholarship.

Spirit (6-1) is No. 2 in The Press Elite 11. Paulsboro is the defending South Jersey Group I champion. Spirit vs. Paulsboro is one of five games to be played at St. Augustine on Saturday.

Here’s the schedule and tickets cost $5 and include admission to all games.
