Tara Booker has established herself as one of best players in the history of the George Washington University women’s basketball team.

Booker was great in the classroom, too.

The Absegami High School graduate was one of five players named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team on Thursday.

Booker has a 3.60 grade-point average as a graduate student after posting a 3.38 GPA as an undergrad. She graduated in December 2011 — after just 31/2 years — with a degree in sociology and is now pursuing a master’s in organizational sciences.

Booker became the first GW player to make the A-10 All-Academic Team since Sarah-Jo Lawrence in 2008.

On the court, Booker has stood out, as well. She was the first player ever at GW to accumulate at least 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, 100 blocks and 150 steals in her career.
