Claude Giroux beat Evgeni Malkin one more time. Now all that stands in his way is one of the NHL's best goaltenders.

About a month after Giroux's Philadelphia Flyers eliminated Malkin's Pittsburgh Penguins from the playoffs, Giroux ousted Malkin from the EA Sports NHL 13 Cover Vote tournament, EA announced Tuesday.

Giroux moved on to face Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne in the final round of voting for the right to be on the cover of the next version of the popular video game.

Rinne beat John Tavares in the other semifinal. Though EA did not release exact figures, the company said in a press release that the semifinals were "the tightest round of competition yet," with nearly 4 million votes. The entire tournament has garnered more than 23 million votes.

The final voting runs from today through June 4. Fans can vote an unlimited amount of times by clicking here. The winner will be announced June 20 at the NHL Awards ceremony at Wynn Las Vegas. The ceremony will be shown live at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
