Sacred Heart High School graduate Ashley Durham celebrated the Canisius College women’s basketball team’s Senior Day on Sunday with a milestone.
Durham became the 20th player in the program’s history to record her 1,000th career point.
She hit the milestone on a 3-pointer with 17 minutes, 53 seconds to go in a 67-56 loss to Fairfield. She finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Durham, a 5-foot-5 guard from Millville who turns 23 on Thursday, leads the Golden Griffins with 12.0 points per game this season. Her free-throw percentage of 90.5 ranked ninth in the nation for Division I through Feb. 21
The 2009 Press Girls Basketball Player of the Year finished her high school career with 2,200 points, second all-time in the area.
