Martin Truex Jr. returns to one of his favorite tracks this weekend at Watkins Glen International.

Truex has finished in the top six in three of his six career NASCAR Sprint Cup races at the Glen. The road course in upstate New York also is one of the closer tracks on the NASCAR circuit to his hometown of Stafford Township.

"I've had a lot of great runs there and great finishes," Truex said in quotes provided this week by his team, Michael Waltrip Racing. "We were in the mix for the lead with a few laps to go last year. I always enjoy running up there."

Truex's father, Martin Sr., raced at Watkins Glen nine times in what is now known as the K&N Pro Series East (then known as the Busch North Series).

"I grew up running the North Series and remember going up there with my father years ago," Truex said. "That's one of my tracks I grew up going to and consider it special."

Truex led 15 laps in this season's first road race, at Sonoma. He wants to lead the last lap this time.

"I love to road race and especially at Watkins Glen," he said. "I am really looking forward to it."
