Yesterday, I ran for the third day in a row for the first time in a couple of weeks, since my knee started bothering me.

Yesterday, my knee spent the better part of the late morning and afternoon aching whenever I left it in one position too long.

I expected this. It's been a good week of training so far. I ran a strong interval workout Monday, with a little discomfort toward the end. Tuesday, I had an easy day, five miles at a decent pace, although the sticky conditions did me no favors. Had no pain on that run, except for the last quarter-mile or so.

That brings us to Wednesday. It was a quick tempo run, and I went after it a little. Unlike my runs last week, the knee didn't start to bother me until a little less than half the 6.5 miles was left. Like last week, the pain eventually came, waffling in severity between a 3 and a 6 on a scale of 10.

If this is the way it's going to be, I'll live. I won't like it. But I'll live. After three days of testing my boundaries, though, I'm glad today's a rest day.
