The Egg Harbor Township High School football team is searching for its identity in the preseason.

The Eagles, who finished 4-6 in 2012, are the youngest they’ve been in the past few seasons.

EHT does return some veterans on the offensive and defensive lines.

Eric Morrison, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound offensive tackle, is a three-year starter.

Austin Gray, a 6-2, 295-pound senior lineman, is a defensive force.

On offense, the Eagles will rely on running backs Dante Moore and Randy Canela. Moore, a sophomore, started as a freshman.

Senior Adam Bynum and junior Kyle Houghton are contending for the quarterback spot.

The Eagles should be prepared for the regular season. They are scrimmaging a pair of South Jersey champions in Delsea Regional (Group III) and Williamstown (Group V).

I've covered high school sports and variety of other events and teams - including the ShopRite LPGA Classic and the Phillies - since 1993.
