The Atlantic City High School boys basketball team can bolster its resume with a win at the Tournament of Champions tonight.

The Vikings (29-1) play Pt. Pleasant Beach (28-3) at 8 p.m. at Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.

Atlantic City can set a school record for wins with a victory. It is believed that no Atlantic City team has won 30 games. The Vikings finished 29-1 in 1991-92, losing to Shawnee 82-80 in the South Jersey Group IV final. Shawnee went on become the first South Jersey team to win the TOC.

Atlantic City can also become the local boys team with the most TOC victories with a win tonight. AC is 2-2 in its past two appearances. The 1993 Middle Township boys are the only local boys team to make a TOC final.

Here are the records of local boys teams in the TOC:

Atlantic City (2005, 2012) 2-2

Middle Township (1993, 1994, 2002) 2-3

Pleasantville (1995, 1996) 1-2

St. Augustine Prep (1999, 2004, 2011) 0-3
