The much anticipated matchup between the Holy Spirit and St. Joseph high school football teams is now two days away.

Spirit (2-1) and St. Joe (2-0) kickoff 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Joe.

Spirit is No. 1 in The Press Elite 11, while St. Joe is No. 2.

Both teams took different approaches to the game.

Spirit coaches worked on the St. Joe game plan as the Spartans prepared to play Bridgeton last Friday. Spirit won 38-0.

Meanwhile, St. Joe was off last week. The Wildcats didn't focus much on Spirit.

"We went back to basics," St. Joe coach Paul Sacco said. "We worked on fundamentals ands doing the little things right."

As for keys to the matchup, Holy Spirit coach Charles Roman said the Spartans want to win the kicking game.

"Our kicker (Tom Worthington) has been phenomenal," Roman said. "He's putt the ball down to the 1-yard line consistently on kickoffs. We need to win the field-position battle in the punting game. We need to make the big play in the kicking game - a kickoff return for touchdown, a punt block."

Check out the GameDay page in Friday's Press for more on this big matchup.
