Egg Harbor Township High School could have a new football coach next fall.
The school has opened up the position to applicants outside of the district. Tony DeRosa coached the Eagles the past 16 seasons.
“The position is posted,” EHT supervisor of athletic and activities Mike Pellegrino said Monday afternoon. “We are accepting applications over the next couple of weeks. We’ll go through the interview process, and, hopefully, we’ll have a candidate in position by the middle of March.”
Pellegrino said DeRosa could apply for the job.
“We’re keeping our options open,” Pellegrino said.
DeRosa could not be reached for a comment.
He is the school’s career victory leader with a 90-74 record in his 16 seasons. DeRosa led the Eagles to the 2001 South Jersey Group III final and the 2009 South Jersey Group IV final.
EHT finished 2-8 last season.
